Safety Policy
Effective Date: September 25, 2026Last Updated: September 28, 2026
Booick is a place to meet new people without giving away who you are. Anonymity makes it easier to be honest, to try something new and to talk to people you would never meet otherwise, but it only works if everyone feels safe. This policy explains how we keep Booick safe, what we expect from everyone who uses it, and what happens when someone breaks the rules. It applies to every part of Booick: stranger chat, friend chats, group rooms, entertainment rooms, games, photos, GIFs and anything else you share here.
- Booick is for adults only (18+). Anyone who seems to be under 18 is removed.
- Other users only ever see your mask: your nickname, avatar and the look you pick.
- Phone numbers, links and social handles stay hidden until both people agree to Reveal.
- Every photo is scanned, hidden until tapped and deleted within 24 hours.
- Report and Block are one tap away everywhere, and safety features are always free.
1. Who can use Booick
Booick is only for people who are 18 years or older. Before you enter, you confirm that you are an adult and that you agree to our community guidelines and Terms. We do not allow minors on Booick under any circumstances, even with a parent's permission. If someone tells you they are under 18, or you believe they are, please end the chat and report them straight away. Accounts that belong to minors are closed, and any content involving a minor is removed and handled as described in section 8.
2. Anonymous to other people, not to us
On Booick, other users only see the mask you choose: a nickname, an avatar and optional extras like a skin, a name glow or a gender tag. They never see your email address, your phone number or your real name. This protects you from being tracked down by someone you met in a chat. However, Booick is not anonymous to us. Every account is linked to a sign-in (Google, a mobile number, or a guest ID during the testing phase), and we keep basic technical records such as IP address and device information for security. This means that people who harm others can be identified, banned for good, and reported to the authorities when the law requires it. Being anonymous is never a licence to hurt anyone.
3. Built-in protections
Safety on Booick is designed into the product rather than added later. Phone numbers, email addresses, links and social media handles are hidden automatically in every chat, so no one can pressure you into moving to another app before you are ready. In stranger chat, contact details can only be shared when both people tap Reveal after becoming friends, and either person can decline. Photos can only be shared in stranger chat once you are both friends. You can block anyone at any time, and blocked people can no longer match with you, message you or see you in rooms.
Your safety controls at the top of this page are free forever and never cost coins. You can choose to be matched only with people tagged Female, stop strangers from reaching you so only friends can chat with you, and hide your online status from friends. We will never sell protection. We only charge for extras like cosmetics, and during our launch phase everything is free.
4. Photos and media
Photos are one of the most common ways people get hurt online, so we treat them carefully. Every time you open the photo button, Booick reminds you not to share private pictures, identity documents, important papers or your location. Before a photo is stored, the location data inside it is removed. Each photo is then checked automatically for nudity and graphic violence, and photos that fail the check are blocked and never delivered. Photos that pass are shown blurred until the other person chooses to open them, carry the viewer's nickname as a watermark, and are deleted automatically within 24 hours. You can also send a photo as view-once or lock it with a 4-digit PIN.
Please remember that no website can completely stop someone from taking a screenshot or photographing their screen. Booick hides photos when the app is not in focus and alerts the sender when a screenshot key is pressed, but you should only ever send a picture you would be comfortable with others seeing. GIFs come from a provider with a content filter switched on, and YouTube videos in entertainment rooms are subject to YouTube's own rules.
5. What is not allowed
We want Booick to feel warm, fun and welcoming. To keep it that way, the following are not allowed anywhere on Booick, including in nicknames, room names, chat messages, truth-or-dare questions, photos and GIFs:
- Harassment and bullying: insults, threats, intimidation, repeated unwanted contact, or encouraging others to target someone.
- Hate: attacking people because of their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic.
- Sexual content: nudity, sexual messages or images, requests for sexual content, or sexual roleplay. Booick is a social platform, not an adult site.
- Anything involving minors: any sexual or exploitative content involving children, or any attempt to contact, groom or exploit a minor. We have zero tolerance for this.
- Violence and dangerous acts: threats of violence, glorifying violence, or encouraging self-harm, suicide or dangerous challenges.
- Scams and fraud: asking for money, gift cards, bank details, OTPs or passwords, fake investment schemes, or pretending to be someone you are not in order to trick people.
- Spam and selling: advertising, promoting other apps or services, mass messaging, or using bots and automated accounts.
- Sexual or illegal broadcasts: sharing a screen, a video file or a web page that shows nudity, pornography, sexual content, violence or anything illegal. This applies to everything shown in watch rooms, not only to messages.
- Copyright and unauthorised broadcasting: streaming movies, shows, sports matches or other content you don't have the right to share with others.
- Doxxing and privacy violations: sharing anyone's real name, address, phone number, photos or other personal information without their consent, or trying to find out who someone is.
- Illegal activity: selling drugs, weapons or other illegal goods, or anything that breaks Indian law or the law where you live.
- Cheating and abuse of Booick: cheating in games, exploiting bugs, farming coins or rewards with multiple accounts, or interfering with how Booick works.
6. Reporting and blocking
If someone makes you uncomfortable, you do not have to explain yourself or keep talking. You can end a stranger chat instantly, leave any room, and block the person so they can never reach you again. Reporting is available in every chat, room and game, and inside the photo viewer. When you report, you choose a reason, and the report goes privately to our safety team. The person you report is never told who reported them.
Reports about sexual content, possible minors and illegal content are marked urgent and reviewed within 2 hours. Other reports are reviewed as quickly as possible. When we review a report, we look at the reported content and the surrounding conversation, which is why chats that have been reported are kept longer than our normal deletion schedule until the review is finished.
7. What happens when rules are broken
Depending on how serious the problem is and whether it has happened before, we may remove the content, give a warning, temporarily suspend the account, or ban it permanently. Serious violations, such as anything involving minors, threats of violence, sexual exploitation or fraud, lead to an immediate permanent ban without a warning. A banned account loses access to its coins, streaks, items and friends. Creating a new account to get around a ban is itself a violation. If you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal by writing to support@booick.com and we will look at it again.
7a. Boo Police: automatic safety checking
Messages in group, watch and game rooms and in stranger chats are checked automatically by a program we call Boo Police, before they appear. It only looks for real abusive words and slurs (in English, Tamil, Hindi and mixed spellings) and for serious harm such as threats, sexual harassment, hate, content involving minors and sharing someone's private details. Friendly banter and ordinary slang are not flagged. Private chats between friends are not scanned; use Report there. If Boo Police stops a message you get a warning. In group rooms and friend chats, three warnings are followed by a 10-minute mute, and the next one sends you to Boo Jail for 2 days (stranger chat stays usable). In stranger chat you get one warning and then a 24-hour stranger-chat ban (group chats stay usable). Several abusive messages within a few minutes lock the account and the browser for 10 minutes. You can leave Boo Jail early by correctly answering 50 general-knowledge questions. Warnings expire after 7 days. A message that sounds like a threat (for example “I'll kill you”) is held and Boo Police asks whether you were joking. If you say you were, it is sent and Boo Police watches how the others in the room react for a few minutes: laughing is fine, while a scared or rude reaction counts as a red alert and the account is paused for review. Serious cases skip these steps: the account is paused and a person reviews it. Every warning has a “This was a mistake” button, and a person looks at each appeal. The text of flagged messages is kept for 30 days for this review and then deleted.
8. Child safety
Protecting children is our highest priority. Booick is strictly for adults, and we do not tolerate any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers minors. Any such content is removed immediately, the accounts involved are permanently banned, and we preserve the relevant information and report it to the appropriate authorities in India, including through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, as required by law. If you come across anything like this, please report it in the app right away and do not share or forward it.
9. Working with law enforcement
We respect your privacy and do not share your information with anyone without a good reason. We will respond to valid legal requests from authorities in India and, where required, in other countries, and we may share information without a request when we believe someone's life or safety is in immediate danger. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what information we keep and for how long.
10. If you or someone else is in danger
Booick is not an emergency service. If you or someone you are talking to is in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services straight away. In India you can call 112 for emergencies. For online fraud or cybercrime, call 1930 or visit cybercrime.gov.in. If you are struggling with your mental health or thinking about harming yourself, you can call Tele-MANAS, India's free national mental health helpline, on 14416, any time of day. Reaching out is a sign of strength, and you deserve support.
11. Staying safe: our tips
- Keep personal details private until you truly trust someone, and never share OTPs, passwords or bank details with anyone.
- Be careful with anyone who asks for money, pushes you to move to another app, or asks for photos.
- Trust your instincts. If a conversation feels wrong, end it, block, and report. You never owe anyone an explanation.
- Think before sending a photo. Once someone has seen it, you cannot fully control where it goes.
- If you decide to meet someone in person, meet in a busy public place and tell a friend where you are going.
12. Changes to this policy
As Booick grows and we add new features, this policy will be updated. When we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and let you know inside Booick. Continuing to use Booick after a change means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact us
If you have a question about safety, want to appeal a decision, or need to report something that cannot wait, write to us at support@booick.com. Formal complaints go to the Booick Grievance Officer, as explained below.
